Milestones

In 2004 we celebrate our Firm's 100th jubilee, as well as the 100th anniversary of our cooperation with Bayer. The strict and prudent adherence to the principles and values, that led Costas Christodoulou & Co to celebrate its 100th anniversary, will certainly be followed into its next century of life, in the new challenging environment of the European Union.

Short retrospection in the history of Costas Christodoulou & Co

The founder of the company, Costas Christodoulou (1878-1972), started the cooperation with Bayer, in 1904, by importing colours for dyeing textiles for the traditional cypriot costumes.

Gradual representation of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and of other products followed the years after.

In 1944, his son-in-law, Michalakis Kythreotis (1910-1994), became his partner who, in 1950, succeeded in acquiring the agency of Agfa Germany.

In 1960, the foundation year of the Republic of Cyprus, imports of industrial raw materials were initiated. Few years later, in 1967, the company assigned with the representation of Agfa Belgium too.

Costas Kythreotis joined the company as partner in 1972, and Soulla Kythreotis in 1994.

The cooperation with Bayer Hellas, in Pesticides, started in 1980 and expanded in 2003 with the establishment of Bayer CropScience Hellas. In the same year, 2003, the cooperation with the Healthcare division of Agfa Greece, commenced as well.

Costas Christodoulou & Co., privileged by all its Principals and Customers that have been honoring it for all these years, envisages even further development and enhancement of its partnership with both.
